First Dates…

For first dates, I usually prefer to go out to eat. It doesn’t have to be at a pricey restaurant, but definitely not at a loud bar where we have to talk or shout over the noise. Somewhere right in the middle…I love trying new restaurants so it’s nice if he’s been there and can help guide me through the menu or different dishes. Not to mention, really sexy when a guy can educate me about new things.

After our meal, I like doing something active. I’m not much of a drinker so going to a bar doesn’t really appeal to me and since I want to try and get to know you, I don’t like going to movies and spending 2 hours beside each other without saying a word to each other. Actually, I think going to the movies for a first date is a horrible idea unless you can tell you’re not compatible at dinner, then it’s okay to suggest going to the movies? Going bowling, miniature golfing, hiking, rock climbing, roller skating, bike riding, going for coffee or dessert are far better choices. This way, it’s still intimate and gives me the opportunity to really see your personality.

First dates are usually nerve wracking and awkward anyways, so it’s nice to be in a setting where you can goof off and flirt with each other.

The worst date I ever had was when I went to dinner with this guy and afterwards he wanted to go to the strip club. The strip club part didn’t bother me too much because I could already tell he wasn’t my type during dinner. I thought we could still be friends and I love strip clubs so going wasn’t an issue for me. The ride there was, though. I remember him parking in the lot and whipping out a bag of cocaine from his pocket. He then asked me if I “partied?” I just looked at him and said, “No, I don’t do drugs at all.” He seemed a bit embarrassed, but snorted away. Once we went into the strip club I excused myself to the bathroom and called my girlfriend to pick me up. That was pretty much the end of the date. I still haven’t run into the guy and it’s been so long, I don’t even know if I’d recognize him. It was the shortest and worst date that I’ve ever had, lol. Who does that? Wow.

Anyways, for the most part, all of my dates have been nice. Fortunately for me, everyone else has been on their best behavior, but no one has sparked my interest. Sometimes they seem too cocky, not mannered enough, or don’t have their life together. I’ll admit I’m a bit picky, but my Mother has always told me to be because I’m worth it. Why settle for less? Hmmm…wonder if I’ll ever find Mr. Right? Any takers? :)

XOXO,
